Another Beta from Google - Google Desktop
yup...yet another beta from google ;-) But it looks pretty cool..I wanted to install it but the darn thing was going to close down my netscape (with umpteen tabs loaded) and IE :-( So I gave up on it..maybe some other time..anyway, you can get it from here:

I used it. Looks good. Great thing is that it looks inside .doc and .ppt etc. files (just like grep) to search for keywords which I find useful (for some reason I never used that feature in windows). Even if windows did have it you still get the familiar search interface of google with this tool.
Anyways, just my 2 cents.
yeah thats true; but on the flip side, it'll list all emails and all webpages (some of which are probably webmail pages) bypassing the security ..aaaarggh..:-S. I think google needs to come out with some sort of authentication mechanism before spitting out ALL emails, etc to anyone and everyone!

hey ... google started lot's of projects like google talk , gmail... but i don't get why they are keeping them for such a long time as demos?!
